The DeWalt worksheet helped me price out a small roofing job fairly accuracy where I was able to make a good profit without outbidding myself while still making a fairly decent profit. I know use some of the worksheets to have my subcontractors complete them then I take them and insert my mark up and use the bid proposal form, which isdown loadable, to present a professional looking proposal to my client. It has minimized my work while the learning curve of becoming computer literate takes its pace. For those of you who are computer literate, there are plenty of softwares that provide you with the ability to automate the process of preparing proposals for your clients such as Bid4build. That particular software seems to be very user friendly and populates the information required for a thorough proposal of a job. They do provide a plethora of other softwares that provide demos.
